Fordingbridge Town Under 11s 2 Stockbridge 2An excellent entertaining and hard fought game ended with honours even as Fordingbridge Town Under 11s and Stockbridge shared a 2-2 draw. Fordingbridge took a first half lead when Toby Bottomley's looping header deceived the Stockbridge goalkeeper, but the visitors quickly hit back with two goals before half-time, the second an excellent cross-shot that hit the net despite Ben Williets despairing dive. After the break it was end to end until Fordingbridge equalised with a rare right foot finish from Toby Davies to bring the home side level. In the last few minutes, either side could have won it, Williets making an excellent save from a 1 on 1 break from the Stockbridge forward, and then Davies shooting just over the bar from a free kick. The result and performances were applauded by all the spectators at the end. |
