Chris Sellwood
The club has been saddened by the recent passing of our Junior
Section coach Chris Sellwood. Chris had fought bravely against Leukemia for a
number of years, always with a smile on his face and a positive outlook. Chris
was loved by the group he coachedwith his father-in-law Tony and brother-in-law
Jonathan. Our thought are with Jackie and his children, of which Robin plays in
the group, and the Dossitt
family.
Registration
A reminder that the club registration evening will be held this coming
Wednesday, July 2nd, at the Sports Club, Fordingbridge Recreation Ground, from
7.30 to 9pm. We would request that all players come along and register so that
we can get all paperwork out of the way before the start of the season. Blank
club and Testway league registration forms are available on the website, click
on ' Registration'. If you can download and complete the forms in advance, it
will save a lot of time on the night, please ensure you complete all fields,
including email address which is particularly important as all club
communication is now email based. Every player must complete the Fordingbridge
Town registration form and pay the registration fee.
For players wanting to play in League teams, which are from year 4
upwards you will need to additionally complete the Testway League registration
form and provide 2 passport size photographs for each player. Please ignore page
2 on the Testway form, they have included this in error and we have no way to
remove it.
Please note for current year 3 players, there will be a league team in
the Under 9s next year, run by Andy Hirst.
Unfortunately, due to ever rising costs (our pitch costs went up 17% last
year), league registration fees have had to increase by £5 per head to £65. They
will be as follows:-
Next year Reception to Year 3 – Either: £40 for the season to cover
registration and all training sessions, or £10 registration for the season and
£2 fee per training session.
Next year Year 4 upwards - £40 for the season for players who do not wish
to play matches but wish to attend training sessions, this covers registration
and all training sessions
or
£65 for the season for players who wish to be eligible to play matches
for the club, this covers registration , all training sessions and all match
fees.
Note that this makes players eligible for competitive matches for the
club, it does not guarantee a place in the team.
We do recognise that particularly for those parents with multiple players
in the club, it represents a large outlay at once so any families with 2 or more
children registering will only pay £55 for the second and subsequent players. If
you would like to spread the fee over a period of time, please discuss
confidentially with your team manager team manager.

Presentation
Fordingbridge Town Youth Football club celebrated the
successful end of it's 16th season with the annual club presentation at Sandy
Balls Holiday Centre on Sunday afternoon. All players received a trophy to mark
their achievements this season, with additional awards to each team for player
of the year and most improved player.
The club now has 185 players and 9
teams competing in the Testway Youth Football League from Under 9 to Under 16,
with additional junior sides training every Saturday morning at Burgate School
Fordingbridge from Reception year to Year 4. This season the club has been very
successful, with one league championship, two runners-up, two cup wins and
another cup final appearance.
For the first time, the whole club has a
major sponsor, thanks to Sandy Balls who have provided training tops for all the club's league teams with a
multi-year sponsorship commitment. Additional team sponsorship has come from
The Tanning Shop Bournemouth, Elliott Brothers, Tarmac, Turnbull Roofing Products, AE
Financial Services Ltd and Car Crash Line. Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Ian Royle by email

Fair Play Award
We are delighted to announce that Fordingbridge
Town Football Club has won the Hampshire FA Charter Standard Clubs youth fair
play award for 2006/2007. This is based on the numbers of players in the club
and our overall disciplinary record for bookings and sendings off last season,
which was zero for the whole of the season. Many congratulations to all the
players and managers involved.
As part of the award, the club receives
£200 towards equipment for the club's players. Some of our players and managers
represented the club at last Saturday's AFC Bournemouth v Northampton match
where a photo shoot was organised by Bournemouth (themselves winners of the
award for League one) for all the Hampshire and Dorset FA winning clubs. These
will hopefully appear on the AFC Bournemouth website shortly, and in the program
for the next Bournemouth home game.
