Fordingbridge
Town
Football
Club
is a youth football club with its home at
Burgate School, Fordingbridge
in Hampshire. The Club was founded in 1992, is affiliated
to the
Hampshire Football Association and plays in the Testway Youth Football League We run several league
sides from Under 10 through to Under 16 and provide football for all
children in younger age groups. We are proud to be a
Football Association Charter Standard Club which means we operate with
FA Qualified Coaches, or coaches who are in the process of obtaining their
qualification, and all coaches undergo CRB checks. This means that all players receive a high standard of
coaching at all times, and you can be sure of the safety of all players.
This web site has been designed to keep members up to date with
results, league tables, news and forthcoming events. To email the Club, click on
the 'Contact Us' button to the left. If you are a local business and
would like to make a contribution to the Football Club, we would
gladly place an advert on this website with links to your own site.
Presentation
Fordingbridge
Town Youth Football club celebrated the successful end of it's 16th
season with the annual club presentation at Sandy Balls Holiday
Centre on Sunday afternoon. All players received a trophy to mark
their achievements this season, with additional awards to each team
for player of the year and most improved player.
The club now has 185 players and 9 teams competing in the Testway
Youth Football League from Under 9 to Under 16, with additional
junior sides training every Saturday morning at Burgate School
Fordingbridge from Reception year to Year 4. This season the club
has been very successful, with one league championship, two
runners-up, two cup wins and another cup final appearance.
For the first time, the whole club has a major sponsor, thanks to
Sandy Balls who have provided training tops for all the club's
league teams with a multi-year sponsorship commitment. Additional
team sponsorship has come from
The Tanning Shop Bournemouth,
Elliott
Brothers, Tarmac,
Turnbull Roofing Products, AE
Financial Services Ltd and Car Crash Line. Anyone interested
in joining the club should contact Ian Royle by email at

We are delighted to announce that Fordingbridge
Town Football Club has won the Hampshire FA Charter Standard Clubs
youth fair play award for 2006/2007. This is based on the numbers of
players in the club and our overall disciplinary record for bookings
and sendings off last season, which was zero for the whole of the
season. Many congratulations to all the players and managers
involved.
As part of the award, the club receives £200 towards equipment for
the club's players. Some of our players and managers represented the
club at last Saturday's AFC Bournemouth v Northampton match where a
photo shoot was organised by Bournemouth (themselves winners of the
award for League one) for all the Hampshire and Dorset FA winning
clubs. These will hopefully appear on the AFC Bournemouth website
shortly, and in the program for the next Bournemouth home game.

Training
Saturday
morning for years R to 3 is at 10.30 to 12 noon at Burgate School every
week at Burgate School. Sessions run from September to Easter, including
half-terms.
Most league teams move to training on
the Astroturf at Burgate from Monday 1st October. Click
here for days and times.
Fixtures
All this season's fixtures are now
available on the Testway League website at
http://www.twyfl.co.uk , click
on Fixtures on the left hand side and select your team.
Registration
Registration forms are available on the
website, click on 'Registration', they are available in both
Microsoft Word and PDF format. Please
ensure you complete all fields, including email address which is
particularly important as all club communication is now email based.
For players wanting to play in League teams, which are from year 4
upwards next season, you will also need to complete a Testway League
registration form and these will be available on the night,
unfortunately we only have paper copies and so can't make them
available to download in advance. To go with the Testway forms, you
will also need to provide 2 passport size photographs for each
player.
Unfortunately, due to ever rising costs, registration fees have had
to increase by £5 per head. They will be as follows:-
Reception to Year 3 –
Either:
-
£40 for the season to
cover registration and all training sessions, or
-
£10 registration for
the season and £2 fee per training session.
Year 4 upwards
-
£40 for the season for
players who do not wish to play matches but wish to attend
training sessions, this covers registration and all training
sessions
-
£60 for the season for
players who wish to be eligible to play matches for the club, this
covers registration, all training sessions and all match fees.
Note that this makes players eligible for competitive matches for
the club, it does not guarantee a place in the team.
For the league teams, we
have had to move away from having the lower registration fee and a
£2 per week match fee. This is because the reality was that parents
and players often forgot to pay each week, and many of the managers
were not particularly good at remembering to collect it. This
resulted in the situation that the club had virtually no financial
reserves left at the end of last season. Although the new method
means a larger payment up front, for those playing and paying
regularly it will mean about a 50% saving over the season, with the
revenue for the club increasing at the same time, all of which is
re-invested in the teams and equipment.
We do recognise that
particularly for those parents with multiple players in the club, it
represents a large outlay at once. If you would like to spread the
fee over a period of time, please discuss confidentially with your
team manager.
