Fordingbridge Town Football Club is a youth
football club with its home at Burgate
School, Fordingbridge in
Hampshire. The Club was founded in 1992, is affiliated to the Hampshire Football
Association and plays in the Testway Youth Football League We run several league
sides from Under 10 through to Under 16 and provide football for all
children in younger age groups. We are proud to be a Football Association Charter Standard Club which means
we operate with FA Qualified Coaches, or coaches who are in the process of
obtaining their qualification, and all coaches undergo CRB checks. This
means that all players receive a high standard of coaching at all times,
and you can be sure of the safely of all players.
This web site has been designed to keep
members up to date with results, league tables, news and forthcoming

Tony Dossitt The club has been further saddened by the passing
of our Junior Section Manager, Tony Dossitt on the 9th of September.
Tony was one of the originals from the club's formation in 1992, and a
generation of children in the area had their first introduction to
football with him. Tony was known for his sheer enthusiasm in teaching
children, and his unique and imaginative coaching sessions that resulted
in many young players falling in love with the game. Tony will be missed
by everybody at the club, but his legacy continues through the coaching of
his son Jonathan, and the playing skills of his grandson Robin. The
condolendences of everyone involved with the club go to the whole Dossitt
family.
Tony's funeral will be held at St Mary's Church,
Fordingbridge at 9.45am on Monday 22nd September.
Chris Sellwood
The club has been saddened
by the recent passing of our Junior Section coach Chris Sellwood. Chris
had fought bravely against Leukemia for a number of years, always with a
smile on his face and a positive outlook. Chris was loved by the group he
coachedwith his father-in-law Tony and brother-in-law Jonathan. Our
thought are with Jackie and his children, of which Robin plays in the
group, and the Dossitt family.
Under 9s win South Newton
Tournament
The U9 B team
won the recent South Newton 6 a-side tournament. This included a 1-0 win
over a Bournemouth Academy development squad in the semi-final. The boys
fought for their lives and managed to win the final against Laverstock on
penalties.
Training
Some teams have already
re-started training at Fordingbridge Rec. You can time all
regular training times by clicking here. Saturday morning football at
Burgate School starts on 6th September, 10.30am to 12 noon for
years R to 3.
Fixtures
All this season's
fixtures are now available on the Testway League website at http://www.twyfl.co.uk ,
click on Fixtures on the left hand side and select your
team.
Registration
Every player must
complete the Fordingbridge Town registration form and pay the
registration fee. For players
wanting to play in League teams, which are from year 4 upwards
you will need to additionally complete the Testway League
registration form and provide 2 passport size photographs for
each player. Please ignore page 2 on the Testway form, they
have included this in error and we have no way to remove it.
Unfortunately, due to
ever rising costs (our pitch costs went up 17% last year),
league registration fees have had to increase by £5 per head
to £65. They will be as follows:-
Reception to Year 3 –
Either: £40 for the season to cover registration and all
training sessions, or £10 registration for the season and £2
fee per training session.
Year 4 upwards - £40 for the season for players who do
not wish to play matches but wish to attend training sessions,
this covers registration and all training sessions
or
£65 for the season for
players who wish to be eligible to play matches for the club,
this covers registration , all training sessions and all match
fees. Note that this makes
players eligible for competitive matches for the club, it does
not guarantee a place in the team.
We do recognise that
particularly for those parents with multiple players in the
club, it represents a large outlay at once so any families
with 2 or more children registering will only pay £55 for the
second and subsequent players. If you would like to spread the
fee over a period of time, please discuss confidentially with
your team manager team manager.
